Astoria Hotel is a lovely place to stay, featuring friendly staff from the reception to the waiters. the rooms are extremely spacious, providing plenty of comfort. the breakfast is particularly nice, and the food is outstanding. Additionally, the hotel boasts a favorable location, making it a short distance from all the key attractions.

The location is excellent - close to many of the city's tourist attractions.
The reception staff were not particularly friendly, the standards of cleanliness and maintenance require attention and there are no communal areas in which to sit.

The staff are helpful, the room is clean and exceptional value for the price. Astoria is central to Calcutta with taxis and rickshaws at the door. For the money, it would be hard to find better.
Reception and ground floor are grubby but rooms and corridors leading to them are clean.

The location is amazing if you love exploring the historic inner city. The newer rooms are much nicer and well-maintained, with daily cleaning. The hotel has a charming old-world atmosphere and a peaceful ambiance. The breakfast is simple but satisfying. The iron staircase adds a unique touch to the modern decor.
